Launceston is just as freezing as Hobart was bbrrrrrrr.....
Anyway, I have a busy day ahead of me tomorrow, so not that much time to write.
This is what I did today:
- The manager of the hostel I was staying at in Hobart got me on the Crable Mountain Day Tour that I wanted to do. He even gave me an extra discount. Very nice. Although the hostel is basic and a little run down, the staff is extremely helpful (particularly manager Mo).
- Went to the Salamanca Market in my last remaing hours in Hobart.
So much to buy and eat there. I bought some candy and some real Tasmanian jam. I ate a scallop pie, delicous. Overall, I just enjoyed walking over this famous and busy market.
- Saw the first couple of minutes of the Aussie Rules final between Geelong and Collingsworth. Geelong won, but their team song sounds a little bit too familiar to me, all you opera fanatics out there will probably know what I am talking about ;): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiGHE42GDMs
- Was picked up for a screnic drive from Hobart to Launceston. First part was not overtly interesting. But, the closer to Launceston we came, the lovelier the landscape became. I saw thousands of sheep (little ones too) on the way.
- Got myself checked into yet another hostel, Batman Fawkner Inn. Got yet another upgrade. Staying in a room by myself again. That surely won't happen in Melbourne :P.
- Took myself out to a nice seafood restaurant where I had a lovely salmon salad. After that I ran (literally, I was sooo cold) up to the grocery store. There I went with my small backpack and on my Timberland shoes. Well, good exercise. And I was nice and warm when I arrived at the grocery store. Did some quick grocery shopping and went back to the hostel.
That's it for today, day light saving is tonight (at least here Down Under). So I will have one hour less to sleep :(.
Be back with Cradle Mountain tomorrow...
