Rain, what rain???

What was predicted: rain with skies clearing during the day.
What I got: no rain, sun and clear skies instead.
In hindsight, it would have been a wonderful day for the Blue Mountains. Even though I would have loved to visit the Blue Mountains, I am sort of glad that I didn't go. Trip to the Blue Mountains today would have probably meant no Mary Poppins yesterday evening. And I wouldn't have wanted to miss THAT for the world :P.
The Blue Mountains tour would have also meant several hours in the bus. Probably not a good idea with the massive flight back to Europe fast approaching.
This morning I was awoken early by a herd of elephants moving chairs and tables in the room above. Very inconsiderate, the second morning in a row that this has happened. Since I was wide awake anyway (no chance of falling asleep again), I decided to go for a run (run was originally planned for the afternoon). Ran along the harbourfront and the botanical gardens. Great!! As I said before, for runners the Sydney Harbour YHA is perfectly located.
After a refreshing shower and a nice breakfast, I decided that I wanted to do the Bridge Climb after all. I booked a ticket :). My climb is planned for tomorrow morning eleven o'clock. The climb is going to take 3.5 hours. If everything goes right, my last day in Sydney (and Australia) is going to be awesome. First the Bridge Climb in the morning/afternoon. And then Mary Poppins in the evening ;).
Since the weather was such a pleasant surprise today, I decided to go to the beach. Well, sort of. I wanted walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach (strangely enough a walk that has NOT been advertised in many travel guides). It is such a wonderful walk, especially in the sunshine. Beaches on the track were bursting with activity.
And the water was just so clear, in a beautiful and bright turqoise. I actually got a little bit of a tan after this walk. My skin definitely was in need of some extra sunshine :). Hopefully, I will see some more sunshine before I leave Australia. Forecasts for tomorrow and Monday are looking good. I hope it stays that way!!
I had a lovely dinner (at a restaurant for a change, usually I cook my own meals) tonight. Australian fish with vegetables. From the restaurant, I had a beautiful view on the harbourfront. This made me decide to -after dinner- walk along the harbourfront for a while. Wow. The Harbour Bridge and the Opera House look amazing in the evening lights. And so does the rest of the Sydney skyline.
Sorry, but I am starting to feel the lack of sleep I had last night ;). I have been hyper all day, still am, but now my body is finally indicating that it wants some rest. Going to listen to my body for a change :P.

Brigitte Muskens:
Hi Suzanne, look forward to hearing all about the bridge climb!! Looks like it will be a nice sunny day. I am thinking of you while I am writing this, you must be "up there", the view must be really great.
Love, Brigitte
