Still have to write a little bit about the third day of my Great Ocean Road and Grampians Tour. As I mentioned in my previous blog, we were staying at Hall's Gap. After breakfast our first activity of the day would be climbing up to Reed's Lookout. It was another nice sometimes tricky hike with absolutely beautiful views from the top. I was up first again :). There was nobody in sight, so I even had enough time to do my little Supercal dance on one of the "top" rocks (this rock was pretty big, so there was no chance of falling off :)). Decided to take it easy on the descend. Something that I shouldn't have done. Got stuck behind people who were, I am sorry to say, really slow (they were my age, the oldest people on the tour were way up front). I mean I practically fell over when I was walking behind them (which I, at one point, almost did).
The moment I got the chance, I passed these two slowpokes. Walked up to a nice German lady, she and her husband were the oldest people on the tour. But they seemed to have no trouble at all with the hikes we did during our tour. Good on them! The German lady said the was surprised that someone from the Netherlands could climb so well!! Dunno, might have something to do with me being in good shape. Or perhaps even my genes ;). After we finished the hike, we were able to witness two fighting kangaroos. Result of fight: undecided, at one point the kangaroos just got tired and stopped ;).
A little after midday our tourgroup was split up. One half would be going with Ryan to Adelaide (a six hour drive, yawn!). The other half, including me, would have to change busses in order to get to Melbourne. Which we did of course. Our driver/tourguide was now named, euhm, I actually don't remember :). Anyway, this driver/tourguide seemed to get us to Melbourne ahead of schedule. That was until the traffic on the highway came to a complete standstill. Major road accident, ambulances and police cars kept speeding by.
Our driver/tourguide, still don't remember his name (sorry!), then decided that it would be wiser to take a different route (he estimated that it would take at least two hours for traffic to start moving again). This route was very scenic and beautiful. But it also was a big detour. We ended up arriving in Melbourne around 7.15 pm, while the orginal arrival time was 5.30 pm. My cousin was fortunately still in town to pick me up. No more hostel stays for a week!!! Really enjoy staying with my aunt in cosy Lancefield.
I am going to the big city tomorrow though. On to Melbourne with bus and train. Should be fun!! I will definitely go to the famous Queen Victoria Market. On the way back to the train station, I am likely dropping by a large sporting goods store, since I think I might be needing some long tights for running. It is a little bit too cold for my shorts here in Lancefield ;). And I am needing an extra pair of tights anyway!!
Just looked up the weather in Sydney for the next week. The weather is quite good until, I am not joking, Thursday :( (I will be arriving on Thursday evening). All the forecasts, I have seen quite a few, for Friday and Saturday are showers, showers and oh yes showers. Which means my planned trip to the Blue Mountains likely won't be happening. Not much use going up there when the heavy rains will obstruct my views of the beautiful Blue Mountain area. Still hoping that the weather forecasts for Friday and Saturday will improve, but I have no high hopes. Fortunately, things are looking a little better for Sunday and Monday. Please stay that way!! I really want to finish off my stay in Australia with some nice weather!!! :D
PS. The second series of Junior Masterchef Australia is absolutely brilliant. I watched two episodes (yesterday and today) and I am hooked...again...

Hihi, niet meer met Ryan meegegaan? Da's balen dat de weatherforecast niet veel goeds belooft:( Laten we hopen dat het toch mooi weer wordt zodat je de trip naar de Blue Mountains kunt maken.
