In a month time....

In exactly a month I will hopefully be soundly asleep in my hostelroom in Perth!!

Have been quite busy with making more detailed travel plans:
- Bought a new suitcase.
- Got my visum.
- Booked my remaining domestic flights.
- Booked two three day tours.
- Hostels have been selected, going to make all the reservations this week.

Of course, there are still various other things that I have to take care off. But I will definitely be ready to depart on Friday September 16th!!

Here is my travel itinerary:

16-17 September
Amsterdam-London-Singapore-Perth. Long flight. London-Singapore will be with the massive Airbus 380-800. Singapore-Perth is done, if I remember correctly, by an Airbus 330-300.

17-22 September
Recovering from the long trip and getting used to the time difference in Perth. I have heard many enthusiastic stories about Perth, so I cannot wait to explore the city myself.

22-26 September
Alice Springs. I will only have limited time in Alice Springs, since I am going to participate in a three day (guided, don’t worry mom ;)) tour through the Red Center: Uluru, King's Canyon en the Olga's.

26-29 September
Sydney, first leg. On September 27th I am planning to catch the train to Katoomba to explore the Blue Mountains. The other day and a half is going to be spent somewhere in or around Sydney. And at the Capitol Theater, the "home" of Mary Poppins :D :P :). Many of you know by now that I want to see Mary Poppins mainly because of Philip Quast :D :P :). Nice plus: the entire musical is just so infectious. And this is probably the most decorated and praised Poppins production to date. Cast and creative team are simply “on the money.” Recently, Mary Poppins dominated Helpmann Awards (Australia’s equivalent to the Tony Awards) with eight wins: Best Musical, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Actor in a Supporting Role (:P), Best Sound Design, Best Music Direction, Best Choreography and Best Direction.

29 September- 1 October
Hobart. I am not really sure what I am going to do in Hobart. I might pick a day tour. Or I might just explore Hobart and its surrounding area. I will definitely visit the famous Salamanca Market on Saturday morning (October 1st). After that, a small bus is going to take me from Hobart to Launceston.

1-3 October
Launceston. Like with Hobart, no specific plans yet.

3-7 October:
Melbourne.
- I have reserved a ticket for the concert of Placido Domingo & Katherine Jenkins on October 3rd. That is why I have to leave Tasmania two days early (originally planned to leave Tasmania on October 5th). I decided that I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to finally see the Spanish maestro live (in the Rod Laver Arena)!! And, if everything goes right, I will be seeing both Philip Quast and Placido Domingo on stage in a time span of less than a week. Ridiculous :D.
- I have reserved October 4th for some Melbourne sightseeing.
- After that, I am going to participate in another three day tour. This particular tour will take me to the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians (among others).
- From October 8 to 13 I hope to do some more sightseeing. No real plans for that (yet). But what I will definitely do: visit my family. Looking so forward to that!! :)

13-17 October
Sydney, second leg. Now I have a little bit more time to explore the city and its surroundings. A definite must for me is the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. I am sort of afraid of heights, so that should be fun lol. Another must: Mary Poppins. I know, by then I have seen this musical already once. But guess what? I want to see it again! And I will :D!

17-18 October
Sydney-Bangkok-London-Amsterdam-Alicante
Sydney-London will be operated by my favorite type of airplane: a Boeing 747-400. When I arrive in London, I have to get on a "tiny" Airbus 321 for the short London-Amsterdam flight. This is going to be such an interesting flying day. First the long haul Sydney-Amsterdam. After spending just a couple of hours in the Netherlands, I will take a Transavia flight (Boeing 737-something) to Alicante, Spain :D.

18-26 October
Valencia-Amsterdam
Lengthy holiday: over! Wallet: empty ;).
